Multiple Line Items

  Less than to read

Overview of line items

In Zapier, line items are groups of multiple, related data points that are structured like rows in a spreadsheet or items in a list. They are used to handle collections of data within a single field, such as the individual products, quantities, and prices on an invoice, or multiple rows from a spreadsheet. Line items allow you to automate complex processes by creating and processing multiple records in a single Zap run, often using the Zapier Formatter utility to convert text into the correct line item format for different apps.

Item lines in Sage Business Cloud Accounting

Sage Business Cloud Accounting (SBCA) has many transaction types where multiple line items can be associated with a single transaction. Listed below are the transactions available in the Zapier app that support multiple line items:

Sales Artefacts - Sales Invoices and Sales Quotes Purchase Artefacts - Purchase Invoices Payments - Other Payments and Other Receipts

Multiple Invoice Lines

The below image shows the creation of a sales invoice with two invoice lines where the values are comma separated. The example shows custom values for the Product Code, Quantity, Description, Unit Price, Tax Amount and Discount Amount, and static values for the Tax Rate and Ledger Account values. The static values mean that all of the invoice lines will have the same Tax Rate and Ledger Account. Should you need to create the invoice with a different Tax Rate or Ledger Account then custom values will need to be used.

The same zap can be used to create sales invoices with single or multiple invoice lines.

Multiple Payment Lines

The below image shows the creation of an other receipt with three payment lines where the values are comma separated. The example shows custom values for the Details and Line Total Amount, and static values for the Tax Rate and Ledger Account values. The static values mean that all of the payment lines will have the same Tax Rate and Ledger Account. Should you need to create the other receipt with a different Tax Rate or Ledger Account then custom values will need to be used.

The same zap can be used to create an other receipt with single or multiple payment lines.
