To test the Sample quotes management app under optimal conditions, we recommend configuring a company in your as follows:

1. Company

Identify a company you will use from the Sample Quotes app.
Within then Sample Quotes app, you will have access to a list of companies authorized for the user you authenticate to access the app.
Ideally, your company should have at least customers, products, and pricing; you can qualify it by following these steps.

Or automatically import demo data directly from the Sample Quotes app if your company lacks data.
The app detects if no customers, fiscal years, accounting accounts exist in the current company.
In this case, it offers, through a dialog box, to import sample demo data.

2. Customer

It is still beneficial to have at least one customer created for testing quotes associated with clients.
Create one or more if none exist in your company.
For example, create a national customer, another VIES non-national, and a third neither VIES nor national.

  • Or automatically import demo data directly from the Sample Quotes app.

  • However, having existing customers is not mandatory, as it is possible to create quotes for leads without necessarily linking to a customer.

3. Products

Create some Products, even though you can later create them on the fly in simplified mode from the app.
You can define products in the Product or Service category, and for some, add a description and internal comment.

  • Or import demo data with just one click Sample quotes / 6. Import Demo Data
This allows you to quickly benefit from a set of ready-to-use sample products.

If you already have a few products in the company and wish to replace them with the sample product set, delete them from Sage Active and then relaunch the app to activate the offer to import sample products.

4. Prices

Tariffs on certain products are useful for testing the price service from the app.

Go to Sales / Price and Discounts / Prices.
For example, create a Reseller tariff and add one or two products with a different rate from the product sheet rate.

You can even set a rate by quantity range.

5. Quote Templates

Finally, as an added benefit, define one or more quote entry templates with product lists.

To facilitate the discovery of the Sample Quotes app, if you haven’t defined any templates, two templates are emulated and offered (Best Sales and Favorites products).
Once you actually add a template from Sage Active, these two templates will no longer appear.

To create a template, also go to Sales / Price and Discounts / Prices.

  • Create a price list without setting minimum and maximum dates,
  • then add the products for this list without prices,
  • save,
  • then update and deactivate the tariff and save.
These templates will be available in the app to serve as a grid for entering a quote.

For example, a template of the most sold products, or conversely the least sold, or a list of favorites…
